When you grow-up in a household that includes a 100+ year old in great health, you learn that middle age is 50 not 40. So I am still a young adult in the years of my maternal family.

My mom is enjoying her new phase in life as well. She spent the last 20 years as a caretaker of my younger brother and her 100+ year old grandmother in addition to caring for her parents. In the last year I have watched her take up swimming, become very active in a local organization, travel with abandon, and buy a Miata! RED. RED Miata!

She is 60+ and learning to love this new life. My dad seems invigorated by it as well. He loves the new car, the pool, having his own yard, and best of all having a son who is married to wonderful girl. Mom and Dad love the new in-laws.

Go enjoy your life! Embrace it. And remember that there are hair care products which add shine to your grey hair without coloring it...heeheee

Hugs!Trixiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11941824999630457439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7929374.post-1151623855669219862006-06-29T18:30:00.000-05:002006-06-29T18:30:00.000-05:00Yer hairs are turning gray? Mine keep turnin' loose! :-( (I am compensating by lettin' my beard go long!)Erudite Redneckhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04830721195868387265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7929374.post-1151603191212947032006-06-29T12:46:00.000-05:002006-06-29T12:46:00.000-05:00Hopefully your yard is small enough that you can a...Hopefully your yard is small enough that you can actually conquer it! I've been working on this one for many a year, but it refuses to be subdued. When I get one corner under control, another has reverted to the wild.

My hair is going a little gray around the temples. "Naturally frosted", I call it. I don't anticipate dying my hair, because I'm not good about keeping up with those sorts of things, and I would have grown-out gray roots all the time, which I hate seeing!

I will be 55 my next birthday. It is hard for me to believe that I'm nearly old enough for a "senior coffee" or a "senior soda". I still feel young!

Anyway, I'm glad you're out enjoying your yard. If you lived closer, I'd give you all the iris you cared to plant!Genevieve Netzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08004780820713448880noreply@blogger.com
