Come and Find the Quiet Center

Come and find the quiet center
in the crowded life we lead.
Find the room for hope to enter,
find the frame where we are freed.
Clear the chaos and the clutter,
clear the eyes, so we can see
All the things that really matter,
be at peace, and simply be.

Ugh, I thought it would just delete without leaving a clue. I was just going to correct an omitted quotation mark.

Here's what I said:

I like that. The early American sound of it reminds me of some of the Southern Harmony" tunes. This tune was written three years before the first edition of Southern Harmony came out, so they do reflect the same era. The words sound like something the Shakers might have written, but I see that the author is from New Zealand and was born in 1931.

Genevieve, I continue to be amazed at how many shared interests we have. Southern Harmony tunes are among my favorites. I've been trying to get some of my musical buddies interested in trying some shaped-note music. We often get together to sing. The closest we have gotten to shaped-note so far is some of the music from "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Love your posts about the creek, the train station and windmills. Funny, I've been working on some articles about modern wind farms and individual wind turbines -- kind of the 21st century version of windmills. I know a lot of my readers will enjoy those posts too and I encourage all of them to check out your blog!
