Now here's a corporate charity that makes a difference!

Tide's CleanStart offers victims of disaster loads of hope.

After Hurricane Katrina, Tide® and the America's Second Harvest Network partnered to create Tide® CleanStart — a program that provides clean clothes and a sense of comfort to families through a free mobile laundry facility.

The Tide CleanStart mobile laundry facility contains 32 high-efficiency washers and dryers; can wash and dry approximately 10,000 free loads of laundry over a four week period; can do about 300 wash and dry cycles a day — equal to one year's worth of laundry for a single family.

Go Here to Tide's corporate site to see more about this incredible helping hand program. And imagine yourself as a victim of last year's hurricane. Wouldn't it be a huge blessing to you to have any way to feel just a little cleaner after that?

Thanks, Tide, for helping to turn things around with this corporate outreach!

Trixie, you are just full of interesting news! How did you discover this tidbit?? LOVE IT. They need to come to my house and help me pare down Mt. Laundry!

Well, having this intense interest in cleaning and organizing*, I subscribe to the Tide newsletter. The one that arrived in my e-mail yesterday had a link to this project, which I think is so cool. I want to go help wash laundry! They actually wrap each person's laundry in brown paper bundles, then gift wrap the bundles in sacks tied with orange and white organza ribbons. That just has to make someone feel better!

*Disclosure: This intense interest in cleaning and organizing does NOT necessarily translate into a clean and organized home at my own residence. Call it an academic study, if you wish. I'm still working on the lab.

Trixie, I have an ongoing study of cleaning and organization too. :D Sometimes I manage to clean and order a corner or two. I never get down to "Ground Zero" as one of my motivational books called it -- where the house is totally clutter free and in perfect order.

I love the Tide truck. That is just too cool, and I know that it provides a very welcome and essential service.
