Well, I experimented with it. I did not realize when I started that all the existing comments would vanish. I didn't like that, so I went through all kinds of manuevers to remove it and restore my comments. If there's a way around that, maybe someday I'll try Haloscan again. But my comments are too important a part of this just to let them evaporate into nothingness.
You can actually keep your old comments and have Haloscan, too. It's pretty ugly coding, but I've seen it on some other sites. I'm not a Haloscan fan myself.
Ohhh, good information, Tech. I can't really justify having Haloscan enough to mess with it right now, but if there's a time when it becomes necessary, I'll check into that more. I was just surprised.
The comments are the best, and worst, part of my blog!
I give up. Haloscan is beyond my abilities at this point. I thought I had it figured out -- comments showed up fine. Next thing I know, POOF they were gone again. I don't want to lose what my beloved readers say! There are too few comments here anyway, so I don't want to lose any!
