The perfect season

This is the perfect season.

Rainy days, cool enough for a sweater. That special fall crispness that explodes in our noses -- a mix of coolness and the smell of wet leaves.

Deciding which warm soup's for supper. Pulling the crock pot from the pantry shelf and searching for just the right recipe to fill the senses and the belly.

Buying new fall shoes -- comfortable as a pillow, waterproof and butt-ugly.

Warm socks.

Lighting my favorite candles -- Yankee Candle's Home Sweet Home fragrance.

Fresh sheets and the fall quilt.

The furnace coming on for the first time this year.

The sound of football games -- the perfect sleeping pill for curling up on the couch with a fuzzy throw blanket.

Folks, it's Cozy Time!

Okay, now you're just rubbing it in! Would it be payback enough to tell you I'm still wearing sandals and painted toenails with little flowers on them? ;)

Nah, it wouldn't work--you already know how much I like fall! Darn!

We have the same taste in candles. I also like Home Sweet Home. I really like Yankee's Carrot Cake candle in fall, too, though it's not sold everywhere. I had to go to a gift store to find it. The Yankee store didn't carry it. Weird.

I LOVE the furnace coming on for the first time of the year. It has a distinct fragrance when it's been sitting dormant for so long. Ahhhhh.

I think I'll take my fuzzy throw blanket to bed with me tonight. :)

You are soooo right. I also enjoy the weather change, but the reason I love fall is that it lets me know Christmas is just around the corner. I linked from a friend's blog, I enjoy you stuff.
